From a health standpoint, the biggest challenge parents have is dealing with the over-abundance of chocolates and candies made available to children on Easter morning. Candies at this time are generally of no significant health concern, but overindulgence can cause acute stomach symptoms and occasionally behavior changes. Much like our Halloween tips for "trading-in" candy for other joyful items (books, toys, etc.), you can be very creative in setting up a similar program to limit the amount of candy and still allow "treats" with other simple gifts.
From our Halloween tip section - the "GREAT PUMPKIN" concept can be translated to the "GREAT BUNNY" concept:

A real neat way to limit the HUGE pile of sweets most children bring home is to institute a "Great Bunny Trade-in Policy." This gives your child the important ability to choose and makes them feel empowered in giving up their candy! Simply allow them to give up a small number of pieces of candy for a very small gift or toy from the "GREAT BUNNY." Offer them a more substantial toy for even more candy. Finally, if they are willing to give up all but a few pieces of their candy, give them a "significant" gift or toy in return. This allows them to choose their sacrifice and subsequent gift, as well as limiting excessive unhealthy sweets (hopefully they will take the bait)!
